Tekirdağ Martyrs Monument, which was built in 1949 in memory of our soldiers who were martyred during the conquest of Tekirdağ, is located within the borders of Zafer district. This area is accessed by a long staircase. In the middle of the stairs, there is a Turkish flag which is made of  was stone. There is an inion right in front of the place where the flag is. The area of the district, which is in the northern part of Kanuni Sultan Süleyman boulevard (ring road), was included in the newly established Istiklal district with the decision of the council no. 73 on 04.02.2020.

The population in 2019 was 7.762.
